There’s nothing like starting an engagement session with a laugh.
“Hey Caitlin, I’m Katelyn!” was my icebreaker as I arrived to photograph Caitlin & Keegan’s engagement session—and it was the perfect way to kick off such a fun-filled evening.
From the very beginning, their joy was absolutely contagious. These two have the kind of relationship that feels like best friends in love. They teased each other, laughed easily, and brought such a relaxed, genuine energy to every moment.
A Love Story Built on Resilience
Caitlin & Keegan’s story is a beautiful reminder that love often grows from unexpected places. They met three years ago, both carrying broken pieces of life, and slowly began building something strong and beautiful together. Now, they share a life full of love, laughter, and a sweet daughter who has already been part of so many milestones—including the proposal! Keegan asked Caitlin to marry him at the zoo, on their daughter’s first birthday. How sweet is that?
Keegan works hard as a welder, and Caitlin keeps things running at a warehouse shipping semi-truck parts. In high school, they were both passionate about sports, and that team spirit clearly stuck—they’re a true team in life and in love.
Most of their “dates” include the three of them as a family. They’re deeply connected to both sides of their families, and they love discovering new restaurants together when they can sneak away for some time just the two of them.
Champagne, Laughter & Moody Skies
During their Edmonton engagement session, one of my favorite moments was when they brought out the champagne. 🥂 They popped the bottle, laughed through the sprays of bubbles, and soaked in the joy of celebrating this chapter in their lives. It was playful, romantic, and so them.
While we had originally hoped for a glowing golden sunset, Alberta skies had other plans. Instead, we were gifted with a dark and moody backdrop that felt just as magical—soft light, dramatic clouds, and a cozy romantic vibe that made their photos feel cinematic and emotional.
As we wrapped up, Caitlin said that when she imagined her engagement session, she hoped she’d cry tears of joy—standing beside the loves of her life. And honestly, I think we got pretty close to that dream.
